Our Philosophy
We are two therapists who know humans are complex beings made up of multiple aspects that are intricately connected. Approaching therapy from just one aspect like thoughts or behaviour can greatly improve functioning but in many cases it doesn’t offer lasting stability, happiness or a deep sense of peace through life's many challenges.
That’s why we approach therapy with the relationship between mind and body in focus. We offer down to earth, relatable psychology and nervous system support to help people understand the strong connection between mind and body, the role of the nervous system and how this impacts feelings and behaviour in daily life.
It is an unfortunate misconception that people don’t have the ability to move beyond their past experiences, and the modern day solution is to learn coping strategies in order to navigate life. Health care in the West has become fixed to the model of exclusively treating pathology; that is, seeing wellness as only the absence of disease or disorder. To add to the problem, modern day life has become highly comparative, fast paced and in many ways toxic, leaving a large percentage of the population living in an overactive stress state (fight or flight), experiencing symptoms of stress and anxiety on a daily basis and feeling disconnected from themselves and the people in their life.
At Whole Body we are passionate about offering a means to undo all of this. We know that stress and anxiety is generated from information stored in the body and activated by the nervous system, which is why we believe there is more to the mental health puzzle than just talk therapy or coping strategies. We think, why would you learn to cope with something when there’s more you could do about it?
Our approach is focussed on addressing present day experiences and sensations (symptoms of stress and anxiety) by offering techniques that invite the body and mind to let go of prior patterning and ‘re-orient’ itself to the here and now. The results are a calmer and more stable mind, a strong connection to self and a sense of personal confidence to walk forward in life. Most importantly, the results stay.
Underneath the daily expectations, tasks and stressors in life, is someone unique and powerful.
Underneath the labels, the jobs and the roles you fulfil, is someone who is deeply intuitive.
Underneath the past experiences, conformity and conditioning life brings, is someone innately wise, loving and peaceful.
If you had an opportunity to peel back all these layers, who would you find?

Meet Us!
David Boyd
Clinical Psychologist
I’m the co-founder of Whole Body and a Clinical Psychologist offering a unique approach to individual therapy, one that goes beyond therapeutic conversation. I have helped many children, adolescents and adults deal with some of the most critical circumstances of their lives, from significant events to more enduring patterns that cause dysfunction and unhappiness.
Like with most people, life has provided me a wide range of questions to be answered and difficulties to be overcome. This compelled me to look deeper into the mechanics of the mind, more specifically into the subtleties of memory, processing and emotion, as well as the therapeutic processes that target these areas. During this journey I came to understand the significant imprint that past experiences make on our emotional memory, and how this can lead us into cycles of repetitive patterns and limiting beliefs that ultimately influence the roads we take in life. My passion lies in empowering clients to clear past imprints and mental blocks that keep them stuck in life, so they can begin to unlock the vast potential, intelligence and untapped strength that lies inside each of us.

Karli Wilson
Yoga Teacher / Counsellor
Hey I'm Karli, I have a background in Psychology and experience in mental health settings over the past 10 years. A strong interest in human behaviour initially guided me towards studying Psychology where I found a passion for Positive Psychology, a modern movement that focusses on human flourishing and optimal functioning. This knowledge navigated my personal experience toward deeply exploring topics such as life satisfaction, gratitude, self purpose and greater wellbeing to uncover what truly makes people well, happy and believe their life is worth living. I've felt the significant impact of self connection and intuitive practices such as meditation, mindfulness and Yoga which ultimately guided me toward a more holistic path to wellbeing, assisting me to overcome my own struggles with stress, anxiety and gut issues. Now also a qualified and experienced Yoga Teacher, my passion lies in combining the world of modern Psychology and Yoga into practical teachings that help people overcome their own unique life stressors and realise the life changing power in soothing their own nervous system.
